Case Tracking Management Information System |
Requirements:
The client, an owner managed company operating in the highly specialised
mortgage packaging industry was experiencing significant growth and was finding
that its paper-based systems were no longer providing sufficient information.
The company wished to replace its log of mortgage enquiries, applications,
offers and completions with an electronic system that would provide day to day
case tracking and management information at the touch of a button. The managers
wished to have various access levels within the system to ensure that selected
personnel only could access confidential information. Due to the rapid growth
being experienced by the company, the system was to be as future-proof as
possible.
Azara Logic Process:
-
Analysis
An afternoon meeting with the client provided Azara Logic with sufficient
information with which to document the client’s requirements. This was a
totally new industry sector with its own jargon and acronyms, but Azara Logic
personnel were able to quickly grasp the company’s business and jargon and help
the client to decide how to categorise its mortgage enquiries to provide the
best management information possible.
-
Project Management
Via ‘prototyping’ meetings Azara Logic was able to customise the user interface to the clients very specific requirements. An 800 x 600
resolution desktop was in use and the client wanted screen fonts to be 12 point
so as to be easily read by the more senior members of staff.
-
Delivery
A brand new object-orientated application was developed to link to the client’s existing SQL Server database (part of Microsoft Small Business
Server). The installation included migrating an excel based list of IFA’s into
the database. This included removing duplicates and ensuring missing data was
corrected prior to adding it to the new system. The application was developed
with expansion in mind; all of the different categories were table-driven with
an administration facility provided so that the users were able to add to the
lists at a later date.
-
Support
Since the original implementation Azara Logic has worked with the client to
update the software with various enhancements. The latest of these have
included adding in facilities to ensure that the company meets the new
standards for the mortgage industry implemented by the FSA in October 2004.
These enhancements were delivered in tight timescales to meet the ‘Mortgage
Day’ deadline.
Success:
The business has grown beyond anybody’s expectations and the system developed by
Azara Logic is still a crucial part of the company’s management information.
The last two years has seen dramatic changes to the industry and Azara Logic
has been able to work with the client to ensure that it is able to keep up with
and stay ahead of its competition. Such is the success of the system that the
client now wishes to link other, external systems to it and use it as the
single source of management information within the company.
